Capt. Charles B McVay III

Dear Sir:
I received your letter telling me how sorry you were about my husband losing his life when the U.S.S. Indianapolis was sunk. I want to thank you for your letter it helped a lot although nothing seems to ease the pain.

I was wondering if there is anyway which I might receive a list of the survivors. I knew quit a few of the boys on the ship and of course if there are any of them I knew survived I would like very much to get in touch with them.

I would appreciate it very much if you could send me any information on this.
Thank you very much.

Sincerely;
Mrs Olin Ellis Smith
