Dear Sir:

I hardly know how to start this letter but I'm in hopes you will be able to help me as much as possible. My husband Robert H. Regalado S 1/c Store Division was on the Indianapolis when it was sunk. Perhaps you know my husband. I know it isn't possible to know every single man on such a large ship. What I wanted to ask is if you could possible send me the names of several of the boys that were saved. Maybe one of them might know my husband and can tell me something. I'm expecting a baby at the end of this month and am terribly anxious to find out whatever I can
I will appreciate any information you can give me and if possible furnish me with the addresses of some of the boys. You can reach me at the above address.

Gratefully yours,

Mrs. Connie Regalado

Mrs. Connie Regalado,

1028 ¾ West Temple Street,
Los Angelos 26, California.

Dear Mrs. Regalado ;

In reply to your letter, it is with regret that I am unable to furnish further word than that your husband is, "Missing in Action".

I am afraid that there is little hope of his survival as the survivor list may be considered complete at this time. It is very doubtful that your husband was able to leave the ship. His shipmates and I share with you your grief and sorrow.

If, however, further word is received, it will be communicated to you by the Navy Department.

Sincerely,

CHAS. B. McVay, III.,
Captain, U.S. Navy.
