We are so grieved over the loss of him. We sure miss him so bad. We want to have his picture &

In his ship or camp? His youngest brother will be enlisted in Navy this winter.

My dear Mr. and Mrs. Green,
Your card reached me several days ago. I shall try to answer the questions which you asked.
The INDIANAPOLIS was sunk approximately 400 miles from the Philippines and 300 miles from Peleliu.
All of Robert's records and personal effects went down with the ship.
A picture of Robert is not available here at the Bureau of Naval Personnel, but I have enclosed
the picture of the INDIANAPOLIS, which you requested. It was taken only a few weeks before she was sunk.
In closing, may I again express my deepest sympathies.
Very sincerely.
