Dear Capt McVay:
Received your letter of 9-26-45 re the supposed death of our son, John T Dean S2/c (944-90-61) radar man.
We would like to have the names of some of the survivors who were in our son's division. We would like to write or talk to someone who knew him. I have written Bureau of Naval Personnel for a list of survivors, and am awaiting same.
In the meantime is it possible for you to give me the names of some of the radar survivors, so I may write them. I know of one and have written him today.
Would appreciate this information as soon as possible.

Your letter of October 11th, 1945, reached me today.
I have requested the Office of Public Information to send you a copy of the names, rates, and addresses of all the survivors. Listed below are the names and addresses of three of the survivors who were radar men.
