Fireman Second Class Ross was born in Shelby County, Indiana, on July 12, 1926.
He attended high school at Clearspring High School in Jackson County in southern Indiana and completed boot camp training at USNTC (United States Naval Training Center), Great Lakes, Illinois in early 1945.
Glen was assigned to USS Indianapolis June 23, 1945, just before it left on its Final Mission.
He celebrated his 19th birthday aboard Indianapolis living only 18 days more.
Glen was Lost At Sea.
